About Me

I am an Ottawa lawyer focusing on not-for-profit and charity law, and business law, working primarily with small and medium organizations. I provide advice on a wide range of matters including formation, corporate governance and compliance, risk management, corporate structure, and dispute resolution. I also advise on transactional matters including mergers and amalgamations, purchases and sales, financing, winding-down of corporations and charities, and voluntary revocations of charitable status.

I have been a member of the executive of the Charity and Not-for-profit Section and the Business Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association (“OBA”) for many years and have participated in a variety of capacities. I just completed a two year term as the continuing professional development liaison of the Charity and Not-for-profit Section and have previously held the position of Regional Co-ordinator; I am currently a member-at-large. I currently hold the position of Secretary of the executive of the Business Law Section of the OBA and am a member of the Corporate Law Subcommittee. I have held many positions on the executive of the Business Law Section of the OBA, including chairing the executive for a two year term from 2016 – 2018. I am also a member of the executive of the national Business Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, and am currently a member-at-large.

I speak regularly about not-for-profit and charitable issues, as well as business and contract issues.

In addition to my volunteer work with the OBA and the CBA, I am a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the County of Carleton Law Association.

I graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa in 2007 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in June of 2008.
